Once inside the settlement, locate the wandering musician named Yamato, who is waiting near the crowded tavern to share his legendary ballad.
Speaking with the musician will immediately mark the general positions of your five targets directly across your interactive map. This makes tracking your next destinations much simpler as you prepare for consecutive one-on-one samurai showdowns. It is highly recommended to fill your resolve meters completely before venturing out to face these aggressive adversaries.
Tracking the Secret Ronin Battlegrounds
The initial duelist waits for your arrival at the Duel in the Drowning Marsh, situated along the foggy shores just south of the Old Kanazawa Marsh. Here, you will face Yasumasa in a swampy arena that significantly challenges your parry timing. Besting this warrior requires precise defensive deflections against his quick sword combinations.
Following that encounter, travel to the northern meadows near the Field of the Equinox Flower to challenge Hirotsune at the Duel Among the Spider Lilies. This striking combat arena is filled with bright crimson flora that adds intense atmospheric weight to the deadly fight. Maintain proper spacing and wait for clear openings after he executes his lengthy offensive animations.
The remaining three master swordsmen are stationed near major natural landmarks throughout the open wilderness. You must challenge Kiyochika under the roaring waterfalls of the Musashi Coast, confront Tomotsugu on the rocky beach near Cloud Ridge Shrine, and strike down Kanetomo just east of Yamabushi Peak. Follow the guiding wind past the massive red trees to find the dark cave entrance known as the Mirror of Sacred Light. Overcoming this final boss grants you the legendary Kensei Armor along with the matching Kensei Headband, providing massive bonuses to your resolve generation and your ghost weapon efficiency.
